Kirk Frameworks:

The one thing I enjoy as much as riding a fine bicycle is the designing and building of one. Combining the thought process of the design with the construction method allows the idea to come to life. This interplay is what has kept me motivated and at the bench for the past 22 years.

You may notice that my work is on the one hand very traditional, and on the other hand less so. The fact that I choose to work exclusively in lugged and fillet brazed steel is traditional and yet often my designs are anything but. While I have huge respect for steel’s long tradition I do not feel bound by it. In fact, I feel I owe it to the giants whose shoulders I stand upon to make changes – and not simply styling cues that reflect today’s fashion trends but continued evolution that truly makes the bike better and more enjoyable to ride and own.
